26. 4. 2017
IFPI, which represents the recording industry worldwide, has announced that Olivia Regnier will move from her role of Director of IFPI’s European Regional Office to that of Legal Director, EU Regulatory Affairs at Spotify as of May 8th.
IFPI Chief Executive Officer Frances Moore said:
"Olivia has been with IFPI for more than 20 years. And it has been a really enjoyable adventure working with her. She has an enormous knowledge of the EU and its legislative environment and has built an extensive network of contacts at all levels. We will miss her tremendously, but find consolation in the fact that she is remaining in the music sector in some form. I wish her every success in her new role.”
Regnier commented:
"I have enjoyed working with the music industry from day 1. During my 20 years at IFPI, I have witnessed major changes as the industry has moved from the CD era to the digital present. I’m looking forward to continuing my career within this continuously developing sector as I pursue this new and exciting opportunity.”
"My thanks are due to Frances Moore for her leadership, my European and global IFPI colleagues for their team work, as well as our record companies and national groups with whom I worked for so many rewarding years of collective challenges and achievements."
Regnier joined IFPI in 1996 as European Regional Counsel, progressed to Deputy Director and was appointed European Office Director in 2010 and has worked on a raft of critically important issues for the music industry, including copyright legislation, formation of European e-Commerce laws, modernisation of licensing and enforcement. Most recently she has helped direct IFPI’s work on solving the online Value Gap for recorded music in Europe.
